Due to the sheer volume of their staffing requirements, IBM held relationships with a number of recruitment agencies; but without a hierarchical process, candidate quality was was inadequate, cost issues arose from pricing inconsistencies, and increased administration burden wasted valuable time and resources. IBM therefore decided to engage a specialist SAP provider who understood the market, their requirements, and had the expertise and resources to respond to a changing marketplace.

The Challenge
With over 400 disparate global SAP systems in place prior to 2001, Nestlé decided to standardise all systems onto one global template. This ten year programme (GLOBE) was to be the biggest ever SAP implementation,involving 250,000 users, and utilising between 1.5% and 2% of Nestlé’s total global sales revenue each year.

The Challenge
Unilever wanted to improve its supply chain by conducting a phased roll-out program across 50 European factories, in such locations as France, Germany, the UK, Hungary, Poland, Romania and the Netherlands. These projects involved improving their work stream to leverage better forecast accuracy and to lower forecast bias, for which a number of SAP APO consultants were required.
As APO remained a niche area within SAP, it was important for Unilever to partner an IT recruitment specialist with connections to some of the industry’s most talented IT professionals. Modis was therefore entrusted with the task of sourcing suitably qualified APO specialists, with the flexibility to travel at short notice.
